The Perfect Book | Book Tag

Created by Sofii @A. BOOK. A THOUGHT.

This book tag was created to allow us readers/book bloggers to create our perfect story or perfect book based on our past readings. You get to choose the best aspects of some of your favourite stories and mention them all in this tag. I loved it and when I told Sofii that she told me I should do it, so I was like hell yeah! Plus, it’s always a positive when you find new book recommendations so I hope I do that for you guys today in this post.

The Rules

  • Answer honestly, there are no wrong answers
  • To make it just a little harder, you can’t mention the same book twice
  • Have FUN!
  • Tag me if you decide to do it, I would love to see your answers
  • Tag at least 5 people

Pick A Book That Represents Perfectly Its Genre

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin represents the High Fantasy genre so well. So much political intrigue, such complex characters that are naturally morally grey (like normal human beings!) and such a well-crafted world. I can’t get enough of it nor this genre.

Pick A Book That Takes Place In A Perfect Place

I can’t really pick a fantasy world as you know they are all brutal and ruthless so not perfect so I have decided to go for Marriage For One by Ella Maise as I feel like most of the story takes place in Rose’s coffee shop, Around the Corner, where you have coffee, baked goods, and a bookshelf full of books. Definitely sounds like the perfect place for me!

Pick The Perfect Main Character

It doesn’t take me long to fall in love with the main character as I am a people person and I see the positives in all but I think this is my pick for the perfect main character. Nina from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, she loves food and is such a loyal character and friend. I can’t pick a better character, plus she is feisty and doesn’t take shit from anyone, I love her so much!

Loyal and Supportive, Pick A Character That You Think Is The Best Friend Ever

Myra from Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young. She is Eeylyn’s warrior partner so of course I had to pick her as they are the best friends you could have asked for in a brutal world like the one in this book. She literally protects Eeylyn’s life and I love her for that.

Pick A Character You Think Would Be An Amazing Romantic Partner

Jase Garrett from My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
This post HERE summarises my thoughts perfectly. This guy is just one of the most amazing romantic partners I have found in YA Contemporary books. I have many more love interests from New Adult and Adult books (I think a blog post will soon come sharing all of these) but I thought I would share with you an old favourite as it has been a while since I have talked about this amazing book.

Pick A Character With The Most Sinister Mind

The Darkling – sorry not sorry. I love this guy as even though he was evil and wanted to use Alina for her powers, he still had good intentions… You know to free the Grisha. I just loved reading about him in the Grisha trilogy and I will never apologise for loving him. Okay, maybe now I understand why people love Warner so much from the Shatter Me series (I’ve still only read book one…)

Pick a Perfect Bookish Family

The Weasley Family from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Of course, I had to give this to one of the warmest, most welcoming bookish family out there. Can I come over and visit for the summer?

Pick A Pet Or Fantastic Animal That You Need To See On A Book

Can I see some cats on some dang covers? I mean in contemporary novels, I’ve seen dogs but never cats and they deserve some love on some book covers. They don’t even have to be the focal point, just let me see some cats on the cover.

Pick A Book With The Best Plot Twist

I’m going to go for A Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson and all I will say is I am shocketh to this day with how the Mistborn series ended. It was such a bittersweet ending but I still cannot fathom that, that ending happened… still sitting here mesmerized by how amazing Brandon Sanderson crafts his plots as I definitely did not see that ending coming, such a good plot twist, if you can even call it that, hehe.

Pick That Trope You Would Add To Your Own Book Without Thinking

The ‘chosen one’ trope as I love it! I especially love it if someone just stumbles into the role of the chosen one in the story, like maybe they didn’t expect to be the chosen one but they are and now they have this undeniable burden of trying to fix everything. I love it and I feel like in all the books I’ve read with this trope it is well done.

Pick That Cover That You Would Easily Put In Your Own Book

I’m going to pick a couple from different genres as I feel like I could easily in my lifetime write at least one book in these genres:

YA Contemporary – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han, I will forever love this cover and would be honoured if mine looked liked that do I ever write a contemporary young adult book.

New Adult/Adult – The Hardest Fall by Ella Maise, let me see the female protagonist and some abs on the cover and I will be a happy gal.

Fantasy – Caraval by Stephanie Garber, I love simple designs for fantasy books. There are many amazing ones out there but this one I just love a lot.

Pick A Book That Has The Perfect Ending

I’m going to go for a new favourite of mine, Song of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury, as I personally loved how everything was wrapped up and I can’t say much more without spoiling this amazing duology but trust me, it has a very satisfying ending. I love these characters so so much and I will always want what’s best for them and to follow their dreams ❤
